Braces Aren’t Just for Children

December 21st, 2009 by Administrator

There are many adults who aren’t happy with their smiles or how their teeth look. Teeth that aren’t straight are usually straightened using braces – but they’re just for teenagers aren’t they? Well, the answer is no. Braces are available for adults, it’s just that usually adults don’t fancy wearing them due to how they look and can affect your speech.
There is now a solution to this problem, Invisalign. Invisalign treatment involves using clear aligners (that work in a similar way to braces) to align the teeth. Each set of aligners is custom made to fit the individual patient’s mouth structure, this makes the treatment especially effective and efficient, reducing the time the brace needs to be worn for.
The biggest advantage though lies in the fact that the aligners are clear and therefore virtually invisible. Excellent news for adults worried about the stigma associated with wearing a brace. The aligners can easily be removed altogether if needed and popped back in – great for dinner dates or important business meetings and something that certainly isn’t possible with the more traditional metal braces.
There is no need to live on with teeth that you aren’t happy with and there are solutions available that can discretely fix such problems. Dental technology has advanced a lot in recent years and it could be worth checking out if you are in need of a new smile.
